Welcome to Prague Pubs
We've visited and rated the pubs of Old
Town Prague so you can easily find a pub with the best
beer,
atmosphere,
and value in the capital of the Czech Republic.
Search for a pub from
our pub
database or take a custom
guided pub crawl or self-guided
pub crawl.
Many people say all the pubs
in Old Town Prague are too expensive or too
touristy. They couldn't be
more wrong! We've got all the information
you'll need to have a weekend or lifetime of
great beer drinking in Prague. We realize that
many of you visiting Prague will have a limited
amount of time to experience the many fine
pubs. For that reason we’ve made our
database easy to search by
type of pub. Below are a few descriptions of what to
expect
at each type of pub:
Traditional
Czech Bars – most
of the pubs in our database fit into this group.
These are your loud,
crowded, smoky, dark-wood, comfortable Czech
Pubs that make you feel like you're at home once
you wrap your hand around that cool comforting
glass. Most of these pubs serve a very reasonable
traditional Czech meal consisting of pork, beef,
or chicken with potato or bread dumplings and
maybe a vegetable like cooked cabbage. Not surprisingly
these meals are made to be eaten with a fine
Czech beer.
Tankovna Pubs – this is a subset of traditional
pubs that serve the mother’s milk of all beers,
unpasteurized, tank fresh Pilsner Urquell. For more
information please see Evan Rail’s story
on our Tankovna Pubs page.
Pubs
with Football -
travel plans are usually made in advance and
maybe a match was
scheduled the same
time as your visit to Prague. For that reason
we’ve
created a list of pubs that might have the game
(though we can't guarantee it). Feel free to
give them a call or stop by and see if the match
is on.
Late Night
Pubs and Pubs
with Dancing - of course many of
you aren’t
coming to Prague just to drink great beer. And
even if you
are, after the pubs close,
the night is still young. So for all of you that
want to dance until the sun comes up, this list
is for you. Most of these clubs are open until
at least 04:00. There are other places to go
after that too.
